TFS Fashion Design Student Wins Scrub Couture Contest at Heart of Fashion

With a beautiful gown created using patches of surgical scrubs and hospital gowns, Toronto Film School Fashion Design student Yanis Allen has won the Fabricland Scrubs Design Challenge.

The Fabricland Scrubs Design Challange was part of the Heart of Fashion Show fundraising event to benefit the North York General Hospital. This first of its kind design challenge invited design students from around Toronto, to design a statement Haute Couture piece using surgical scrubs and hospital gowns.

The students were  judged by the very best in the Canadian fashion and media industry on creativity, originality and the overall look of their gowns.

The show was curated by TNT Fashions and hosted by Jeanne Beker. More than 30 students submitted their creative vision of scrub couture and of the five finalists, three were from Toronto Film School: Yanis Allen, Lana Kuidira and Diseiye Thompson.
