Acting Students Mount Two Productions Dec. 16 Through 19

This December the Term 5 Acting for Film, Television & Theatre students from Toronto Film School will mount two stage productions: Book of Days and The Learned Ladies.

Book of Days is set in a small Missouri town dominated by a cheese plant, a fundamentalist church, and a community theatre. When the owner of the cheese plant dies mysteriously in a hunting accident, his bookkeeper suspects murder. One woman begins her own quest to find truth and honesty amid small town jealousies, religion, greed and lies. She launches into a one-woman campaign to see justice done.

Book of Days shows on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. and on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 9 p.m. For your free tickets to Book of Days click here.

Also on tap for this month is the staging of The Learned Ladies. This sassy comedic farce pokes fun of posers, pretenders and celebrities. With the highest of intentions a group of bored upper class ladies invite celebrity guests to their salon in hope of creating an Academy of Higher Learning. Jealousies, rivalries and matchmaking parents try to intervene with love lives both real and imagined. Originally performed in 1672 at Versailles for the Louis IV of France the TFS production is set today showing that we are just as shallow and starstruck as we were 300 years ago.
