Acting Student Domenic De Rose Hired for Degrassi

Recent Acting for Film, TV and the Theatre graduate Domenic De Rose has been hired for 2 episodes and possibly 4 more for Degrassi. Domenic also stars in Ho Anderson’s film Lotus Eaters which screened at the 2012 Reel World Film Festival. Ho Anderson is also a Toronto Film School student in the Film Production program.

In his final acting showcase performance in Monsieur D’Eon is a Woman, Domenic impressed audiences and faculty with his stage acting skills. Prior to the Monsieur D’Eon stage play, Domenic had little to no experience in theatre, but he still shone in his roles as Broglie, Cassanova, and Rose Bertin’s Assistant.

Degrassi is in its 31st year of making groundbreaking television for teens. The show follows a cast of students at Degrassi Community School who face various challenges, such as poor self image, peer pressure, child abuse, sexual identity, gang violence, self-injury, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, death, and a number of other issues.
