TFS Instructor Uses Motion Graphics to Win Raptors Northside Pride Contest

Sometimes, 40 minutes of motion work can result in a $2,000 payout, or so an instructor in the Graphic Design and Interactive Media Diploma program at Toronto Film School found out.

Matthew Stasyna used his skills in motion work to enter the Northside Pride Contest and won.

“I was very happy to have my tweet judged (and accepted) by members of the Raptors team and their President, resulting in a two-day trip to Washington for Game 4 of the Raptors playoffs,” Stasyna said.

“I used Adobe After Effects and the same methods I teach in class to produce a small piece of video showing a dinosaur stomping through snow and roaring with pride,” Stasyna explained, adding that these methods are taught in the Motion Graphics 1 and Motion Graphics 2 courses.
