Toronto Film School Continues Reign as One of Top 10 Film Schools in Canada

Toronto Film School has once again ranked amongst the cream of the crop of Canadian film schools.

Scoring a perfect five out of five, TFS recently landed at 7th place on Course Compare’s Top 10 Film Schools for 2021 list, which ranked institutions based on a number of different criteria, including: job placement rate; student satisfaction; industry recognition; salary expectations; and graduation rate.

“Located in the core of Toronto’s vibrant downtown and close to the city’s entertainment district and filmmaking centre, Toronto Film School offers a hands-on, collaborative education opportunity covering all aspects of filmmaking,” Course Compare – which is billed as “Canada’s online marketplace for education” – said of TFS in a statement.

Whether you’re looking to be a director, producer, camera operator, sound designer or post-production supervisor, Toronto Film School programs can take you in several directions in the world of filmmaking.”

This latest Top 10 listing for TFS follows on the heels of similar rankings from QS World University Rankings, the Princeton Review, and CEO World Magazine, to name a few.

And for good reason.

Boasting a fast-paced, hands-on and highly collaborative learning environment, TFS programs are designed to arm students with the theory and skills they need to pursue their passions in the creative industries. TFS’s program offerings range from Acting and Writing for Film and Television, to Film Production and Graphic Design and Interative Media, to Video Game Design and Animation and Development – all of which are taught by award-winning instructors.

That last point is an especially poignant one for graduates like Michelle L., who gave TFS’s instructors five out of five stars in her Course Compare review of her TFS experience.

“I went to the Toronto Film School a few years ago and I can’t say enough great things about my experience. TFS is hands down the best film school around. The instructors are top-notch,” she said of TFS’s faculty, which boasts Schitt’s Creek‘s Emmy Award-winning executive producer, Andrew Barnsley, among its ranks.

“Everyone is very knowledgeable and currently working in the industry, so there are lots of great opportunities to work on projects if you apply yourself.”

In fact, Michelle added, she even had “several gigs” lined up the second she graduated from her 18-month diploma program at TFS – a great omen for current and future TFS students, who will soon be seeking work in Canada’s multi-billion-dollar television and film industry.

According to Course Compare, the creative arts rank among those industries that are weathering the global pandemic better than others, “with world-class film, visual effects, animation and post-production companies already well established and employing thousands of talented people across the country.”

“To help fuel the talent pipeline, film production schools (like Toronto Film School) have grown and continue to thrive in the major hubs that draw productions from around the world, producing award-winning graduates and making Canada a great place to launch a career in the film industry.”

But don’t take it from Course Compare, take it from a recent graduate:

“If you’re looking for a hands-on, yet informative and cutting-edge film school, I highly recommend Toronto Film School,” Michelle said.
