Meet Sel Unson, Fashion Design Grad and Production Manager, Bridal Industry
Meet Sel, she moved here from the Philippines to pursue a career in fashion design. Now working as a production manager for a bridal company, she says Toronto Film School prepared her with the skills to take her career to the next level and to shine within the company.
“When I was in the Philippines I was in a different career. I worked in the pharmaceutical industry for four and a half years, but ever since I was a kid, I have had a love for the arts.”
“I chose fashion design because fashion design is another medium of an art.”
“I’m currently working as Production Manager for a bridal company which is based in Toronto. I’ve been working there for about two years now. I got the position because of a recommendation from the school. One of my instructors had recommended me. I’m working for a designer who was also a graduate from the Toronto Film School and has been in the industry for about 25 years and has been very successful.”
“I would say the school has really helped me in refining my skills so that I would be able to be successful in my career. It has equipment with the skills I need to pursue fashion design. It has taught me how to sew, pattern graft, drape and technical design.”
“The Toronto Film School has really helped me, not only with the skills, but also by introducing me to a network of people and what the industry is going to be like.”
